Just Call Me The Basket Bitty

Everyone of us have a hard-to-shop-for person on our gift lists; whether it be a Birthday, Christmas, Office Party Secret Santa, Baby Shower, Wedding or Anniversary.
If you are like me and despise the notion of copping out with a gift card for any of the aforementioned gift-giving opportunities, then stay tuned. With a few bucks, a pinch of imagination and a few personal tidbits of knowledge about your giftee, I'm going to show you how to create inexpensive, personalized gift baskets for every occasion.
Most items that I use for my baskets come from my local dollar store; the baskets, the bags, the ribbon, the stuffing, as I like to call it.  Occasionally, some of the things that go in the basket as well, but not always. Yes, I am the self-proclaimed ‘Queen of the Dollar Store’!

For those of you who say, "I'm just not creative", all it takes is one small object or idea to build on. For instance, at my office we do a gift exchange for Christmas and every one makes a wish list. I take one or two things from the wish list and run with it. You can create a theme for your basket based on those items; then all you have to do it put them in a basket, wrap a ribbon around it and there you go.
One year I drew the name of someone that I didn't know very well. I took items from her wish list into consideration; one item that stood out was she likes snowmen. Then, I kind of watched her around the office and noticed that she drank hot chocolate almost everyday. BAM! There was the theme for my basket. Snowman mugs, hot chocolate, marshmallows, and a few extra snowman goodies. She asked me how I knew she liked hot chocolate; I told her that I had been watching her, which sounded a little creepy when it came out of my mouth. So be sure to eavesdrop on your co-workers incognito, and deny everything when asked!

On another occasion, I was in charge of the office Christmas Party and I created several gift baskets for a raffle drawing. Each basket cost around $10 (cooperate budget). Here are few of my favorites:
Beer Mugs, Beer Nuts, Football Platter

Irish Coffee Mugs, Marshmallows, Hot Chocolate Mix
